Jodi LeAnn Sanderholm

1987-2007

Jodi was born September 26, 1987 in Arkansas City to Brian J. and Cindy A. (Shanks) Sanderholm. Jodi attended Arkansas City schools, graduating from Arkansas City High School in 2006. She was one of four Valedictorians in her graduating class. While in high school, Jodi was a member of the National Honor Society, a Kansas State Scholar, a Kansas Board of Regents Scholar and earned the Outstanding Physics Student of the Year Award presented by David Stinemetze. She was a member of the Ark City High School Dance Team for four years, two of those four years she was the Captain. Jodi was a member/instructor of Ark City Dance and a Universal Dance Association Instructor. After high school, she attended Cowley College where she studied pre-pharmacy. While at Cowley, she was a member of the Cowley Tigerette Danceline.

Survivors include her parents, Brian and Cindy Sanderholm of Ark City; her brother, Jason Sanderholm of Wichita, KS; her sister, Jennifer Mayfield and her husband Andy of Blue Springs, MO; a niece, Emma Jolea Mayfield of Blue Springs, MO; paternal grandparents Jim and Janet Sanderholm, maternal grandparents Don and Peggy Shanks, great-great aunt, Lillian Damewood “Dody”, and her boyfriend Colby Wilson all of Ark City.

She Dances With Angels A daughter, a dancer, A scholar, a friend, A comic, a leader, Our hero til the end. A smile that engulfed any room, A giggle all her own, Her presence among us, Was a gift to have known. All we hear is the silence, Of this beautiful soul; Her presious heart Was made of gold. There is not a heart unbroken, Nothing to be undone; No answers to our questions, She was God's chosen one. Now she dances with angels In the midst of the gentle breeze; Our memories forever, the pain they will surely ease. She was an angel among us, Not to tarry long; If you listen you can hear her whisper ~ My friends be strong. Celebrate her life As she would say: Because we know she dances With the angels today.
