
James Jones was an
All-American in football in 1962 and 1963 as a fullback for Arkansas
City Junior College. He also earned All-Jayhawk Conference honors as
a fullback the same two years. At the time of his induction, Jones
was a safety officer and trainer for Allied Signal Federal manufacture
and Technologies’ Kansas
City division. He has served on Kansas City, Kan., and Kansas City, Mo.,
Anti-Drug Abuse committees, was a 13-year member of the United Way of
Greater Kansas City’s Steering Committee, and made a United Way
television commercial. He was a long-time deputy sheriff and served as
captain over a federal juvenile drug abuse unit.
