Zimmerman is a transfer from Bethany College after redshirting her freshman year with an injury. She batted .325 her senior year at Fairbury hitting in the 3-4 power spots and she hit .312 while leading her summer team, the K-State Techno-Kats, to a Kansas ASA State Championship and second place at Nationals in 2006. Zimmerman played in a five-day tournament in Prague, Czech Republic this past summer with a USA Athletes International team.
