Assistant Cheer Coach

Bio

Now in his fifth year as an assistant coach for the Cowley College Spirit Squad, Brandon Burke continues to be an invaluable asset, deeply rooted in the program's success. An alumnus himself, Burke holds a degree in Education with a concentration in Child Development, and his expertise is further solidified by his certification as a USA Cheer Coach Member.

Burke's impressive cheer journey began in Newkirk, Oklahoma, where his Newkirk High School squad achieved remarkable success, securing four OSSAA Region cheer championships and two Spirit Fest championships. Burke himself was recognized with All-Region cheerleader honors. He further refined his skills with Kristi Shaw's Advanced Cheer Crew All-Star squad before becoming a key member of the Cowley College spirit squad. As an athlete, he competed at the UPA Americup Nationals before continuing his collegiate cheer career at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Under Coach Burke's guidance, the Cowley College Spirit Squad has consistently achieved excellence, securing numerous titles at both local and national competitions. Recent notable achievements include:

• 2022 Region IV Competition, Region IV Champions
• 2022 Cheer Ltd National Championship, National Champions
• 2023 Cheer America National Brandon Championship, National Champions
• 2024 Region IV Competition, 2nd place 
• 2024 DTU College Virtual Large Co-ed Championship, 2nd place
• 2024 DTU College Virtual Mascot Championship, National Champion 
• 2025 Region VI Competition, Advanced Large Co-ed Champions
• 2025 DTU College Virtual Large Co-ed Championship, 2nd Place

Outside of his coaching responsibilities, Brandon is dedicated to academic affairs, serving as the Director of Dual Enrollment & Partnership, where he collaborates with area high schools. When he's not at Cowley College, Brandon cherishes time with his family: his partner Andy, son Eyzic, and their dogs, Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp.
