Competing at the 2007 COA Lone Star Open Cheer and Dance National Championship Saturday in Dallas, Texas, the Cowley College Tigerette Danceline placed first in the collegiate dance variety division.
The team was awarded a championship trophy and banner for its first place finish. The squad dedicated the victory to former Tigerette Jodi Sanderholm, who died in January.
"They really came together and bonded as a team after dealing with the tragedy and heartache they have faced this year," Cowley head coach Lindsay Sanderholm said.
Sophomore captain Brandy Hallacy placed first in the collegiate solo division and freshman Brianna Branine placed second in the collegiate solo division.
