Tigerettes attend National Dance Alliance camp
August 3, 2009
Members of the Cowley College Tigerette Dance Team attended the National Dance Alliance (NDA) camp held July 28-30 at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
The team learned a variety of routines to be performed during basketball season and had a successful week as they received a blue superior ribbon on their team dance, spirit stick, and placed third in the Division II team dance competition.
Division II includes all junior colleges and small four-year universities. The Tigerettes were also named the top junior college dance team at camp, beating area teams including Barton County and Johnson County Community College.
The team qualified to attend the NDA Collegiate National Championship in Daytona Beach, FL in April, 2010. Tigerettes' Addie Gray and Brittany Anguiano were named all-American nominees and Devon Tracy was selected as an all-American and received a certificate and medallion. Lindsay Sanderholm serves as head coach of the Tigerettes.
The entire squad of 25 dancers will have a home dance camp this weekend to start preparing for their season.
