The Cowley College Tigerette dance team proudly clinched second place in the nation for Hip Hop and fourth place for Pom following a determined and dynamic performance at the national competition recently held in Orlando, FL.
After day one of the competition, the Tigerettes were in fourth place in both the Hip Hop and Pom categories. Not content to stay there, the team reviewed judges' critiques with focus and precision, making key adjustments the evening before day two based on direct judge feedback and score analysis.
Their hard work paid off.
On day two, the Tigerettes delivered performances filled with passion and power, earning a +3.78 point increase in Hip Hop and a +1.26 point boost in Pom. These improvements propelled the team to jump two places in Hip Hop, earning them the national runner-up title, and secured a solid fourth-place finish in Pom.
"We are incredibly proud of the dedication and resilience our team showed," Holli Gurnee, head coach of the Tigerettes, said. "They listened, learned, and gave everything they had on day two. This is the kind of growth and grit that defines a champion team."
With this impressive finish, the Tigerettes continue to raise the bar and represent their school and community with excellence on the national stage.
