Savage Storm rallies to defeat the Tiger men’s tennis team 4-3
Playing at NCAA Division II Southeastern Oklahoma State University on Tuesday in Durant, OK, the No. 5-ranked Cowley College men’s tennis team raced out to a 3-0 lead before the Savage Storm rallied to defeat the Tigers 4-3.
The Storm got the doubles round started with a win at court one, but Cowley County would win the next two matches to take the point.
The Tigers would go on to win at No. 1 and 2 singles to take a 3-0 lead before Southeastern Oklahoma State rattled off four straight singles wins to take the match 4-3.
Cowley's Haruki Okude and Dan Hosono teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles and earned victories at No. 1 and 2 singles. The Tigers' other win came from their No. 2 doubles team of Luca Laurindo and Wojtek Biela.
Cowley will host region foe and No. 2-ranked Pratt Community College on Thursday, April 2, at 1 p.m. at the Ark City High School Tennis Courts.
