Tiger tennis team wins second straight conference match
Getting solid play throughout its lineup, the No. 5-ranked Cowley College men’s tennis team defeated No. 7-ranked Barton County 7-2 on Tuesday in Great Bend, KS.
Cowley has won two straight conference matches. On Tuesday, the Tigers won two of three doubles matches before winning five of six singles contests.
Cowley will play a final regular-season match at Collin County on Saturday at 8 a.m. in Plano, TX. The Tigers will then prepare for the Region VI/Jayhawk Conference Championships on April 21-22 in Pratt, KS.

DOUBLES
*No. 1 – Haruki Okude/Dan Hosono (CC) defeated Alipoe/Ankrah (BC) 9-8 (8-6).
*No. 2 – Luca Laurindo/Wojtek Biela (CC) defeated Villarroya/Molefe (BC) 8-1.
*No. 3 – Vaughn Smith/Guilherme Coelho (CC) lost to Sigavque/Tesevic (BC) 6-8.
SINGLES
*No. 1 – Okude (CC) defeated Alipoe (BC) 7-6, 6-7, 6-2.
*No. 2 – Hosono (CC) lost to Ankrah (BC) 2-6, 1-6.
*No. 3 – Laurindo (CC) defeated Villarroya (BC) 6-7, 1-6.
*No. 4 – Biela (CC) defeated Sigavque (BC) 6-2, 3-0 when the match was halted.
*No. 5 – Coelho (CC) defeated Molefe (BC) 6-4, 6-3.
