The Lady Tigers (31-11) remain in a tie for first place in the conference with Neosho County at 13-1. Hesston (2-21) has dropped 21 games in a row to fall to 2-21 overall and 0-12 in the conference.
Cowley got multi-homer games from freshman Taverli Tennant and sophomore Paige Scanlin in game one. Tennant added a double while driving in four. Tennant leads the squad with 13 home runs, while Scanlin has 10.
Sophomore Jamie Molina led Cowley's 20-hit attack by going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored.
Mikah Vann (17-4) allowed only two runs and four hits in seven innings, while striking out five and walking none.
In game two, Cowley scored seven runs in the first inning and never looked back in the 14-4, five-inning run-rule win.
"I thought our hitting was pretty sharp in the doubleheader, and we really put pressure on them in the first inning by scoring a lot of runs," Cowley head coach Jenny Hoyt said.
Krisyana Pellet hit her ninth home run of the season and drove in four, while Tennant hit her 22nd double and drove in a pair of runs.
Ezra Arredondo (12-3) earned the win while allowing six hits and two earned runs in five innings. Arredondo helped her cause at the plate by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored out of the leadoff spot.
Cowley will host Allen Community College in a doubleheader on Thursday at 2 p.m. The Red Devils are 17-22 overall and 7-9 in the conference. Following Thursday's doubleheader, Cowley will play doubleheaders at nationally ranked Kansas City on Saturday and Neosho County on Tuesday.
"Going into this week, we have to continue to hit and allow both offense and defense to work hand in hand with each other," Hoyt said.
