Cowley softball lands nine players on all-conference list
Coming off a second-place conference finish, the Cowley College softball team had nine players named to the All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 list.
Sophomore Taverli Tennant repeated as a First Team All-Conference infielder and is batting .429 with 15 home runs and 61 runs batted in.
Joining Tennant as First Team selections were Cowley freshman infielders Kiki Warner (.417 average, six home runs, 37 RBI) and Carsen Carpenter (.390 average, 11 home runs, 45 RBI), as well as sophomore pitcher Dacey Morris, who is 17-8 with a 4.08 earned run average.
Freshman utility player Taylor Clay (.430 average, 36 runs batted in) was named a Second-Team all-conference selection, and sophomore outfielders Breanna Curry and Gracy Smith (.337 average) joined freshman infielder Hannah Howard (.350 average, 42 RBI) and catcher Norah Macken (.284 average) as Honorable Mention all-conference selections.
The Lady Tigers (29-21) finished 15-5 in the Jayhawk Conference and earned the second seed in the Region VI DII Softball Tournament held May 6-9 in Overland Park, KS. Cowley will face seventh-seed Neosho County on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
