Lady Tigers erupt for 62-point road win

Cowley improves to 5-0 on the season, while the Lady Mavericks fall to 0-4.
After scoring the game's first 16 points, Cowley closed the first quarter on a 10-0 run to lead 34-7.
"The start to the game really got us going," Cowley head coach Todd Clark said.
The Lady Tigers would use a 14-2 run at the end of the first half to take a commanding 56-16 halftime lead. Another 9-0 run to end the third quarter increased Cowley's lead to 74-26, and the Lady Tigers would score over 100 points for the third time this season.
Cowley is averaging 97 points per game through the team's first five contests and forcing more than 30 turnovers per game.
"We played with a lot of energy, and that helped us get off to a nice start on our road schedule," Clark said.
Sophomore Jamie Molina came off the bench to score a game-high 23 points to go along with six rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Molina leads the Lady Tigers with an average of just under 20 points per game.
Freshman Rafa Bergonso also came off the bench to score 19 points, and Cowley's bench players combined for 63 points. Molina and Bergonso combined to hit eight of the Lady Tigers' 13 three-pointers.
Marta Perez Souza led the Lady Mavs with nine points, while Ella Murphy added eight.
Cowley will attempt to stay unbeaten when it plays its conference opener at Pratt Community College (3-0) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
"This will be another difficult road game in a tough environment," Clark said. "We need to be focused and ready for a long conference schedule."
