Cowley’s Sophie Knaab named KJCCC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Cowley College’s Sophia Knaab and Garden City’s Milli D’Ath have been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for their performances against ranked foes last week.
Knaab was named the Women's Soccer Player of the Week after helping lead the No. 8-ranked Cowley College soccer team to a 2-1 road win at No. 12-ranked Hutchinson. Knaab assisted on both goals, including the game-winning goal in the 79th minute.
Knaab added another assist and a goal in a 3-0 road win at Seward County. The goal was her first collegiate goal. Cowley is now 2-0-1 on the season.
Freshman Millie D'Ath was named the Goalkeeper of the Week as she anchored Garden City's defense in a 1-0 shutout victory over No. 20 Butler Community College, recording nine saves to secure a clean sheet and give the Broncbusters a statement win to improve to 7-0-1.
