Cowley women’s soccer claims top conference honors
The 2025 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 6 Division 1 postseason women’s soccer selections are led by Coach of the Year Roberto Dos Santos of Cowley College, with Cowley freshman Saki Sanno named Offensive Player of the Year and Hutchinson sophomore Anastasia Pokrandt and Cowley sophomore Sthefany Silva named Co-Defensive Players of the Year. All totaled, Cowley had seven all-conference selections.
Roberto Dos Santos – Cowley (KJCCC Division 1 Women's Soccer Coach of the Year)
Dos Santos led Cowley to an outright KJCCC D1 women's soccer title and top overall seed in the NJCAA D1 women's soccer plains district tournament with an unbeaten record of 11-0-4 in the regular season. In conference play, the Tigers went 11-0-3 and won each of their final four matches of the season, with six of their 11 conference wins coming by shutout. Cowley defeated every KJCCC team at least once, with three of their four ties coming on the road, as the Tigers are seeking a third-straight trip to the NJCAA D1 Women's Soccer National Tournament.
Saki Sanno – Cowley (KJKCCC Division 1 Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year)
One of the key pieces to Cowley's offense, Sanno currently ranks in the top five of the KJCCC in every significant offensive category, including goals (third – 11), assists (second - 11), points (second – 33), and shots (first – 96) while leading the conference with four game-winning goals. Nationally, Sanno ranks third in total shots, eighth in game-winning goals, and ninth in assists.
Anastasia Pokrandt – Hutchinson (KJKCCC Division 1 Women's Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Year)
Pokrandt becomes a two-time KJCCC D1 Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year after helping the Blue Dragons to a 12-2-4 overall record this season and a second-place finish in the KJCCC D1 women's soccer standings. Appearing in and starting all 19 games this season for the Blue Dragons, Pokrandt was a key piece on the back line, which has allowed 13 total goals heading into their NJCAA D1 Plains District Tournament semifinal matchup, while winning nine of their games by shutout. Nationally, Hutchinson ranks 16th in goals against average (0.73), 17th in shutouts (nine), and 20th as a team in goals allowed (13).
Sthefany Silva – Cowley (KJKCCC Division 1 Women's Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Year)
