100! Cowley volleyball team’s incredible winning streak hits the century mark
Having not lost since the 2022 season, the No. 1-ranked Cowley College volleyball team made it 100 wins in a row with a 25-16, 25-10, 25-9 victory at Fort Scott on Wednesday.
After back-to-back undefeated national championships, the Lady Tigers are 19-0 this season and 5-0 in the Jayhawk Conference.
"All three teams that are a part of this streak bought into our philosophy and the overall mission of our program," Cowley head coach Steven Gream said. "We are happy with the streak, but this is not our end goal. We need to continue to take it one match at a time."
Sophomore Ashlynn Jaccard, the reigning NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week, continued her strong play with nine kills in 10 attempts. Freshman Teo Cekan added eight kills, while Josci Buckley chipped in with six kills.
"We balanced the attack very well and everyone on the team contributed to the win," Gream said.
Cowley had 16 aces in the win.
"We put a lot of pressure on them with our serve," Gream said.
Fort Scott falls to 3-17 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
Cowley will return home to celebrate win No. 100 with its home fans and also look to continue its winning ways when it hosts Northeast Community College at 2 p.m. Friday before facing Rose State College later that evening at 5.
"We will need to be ready to play and focus on being us," Gream said.
