Ten years removed from its previous national championship, the Cowley College women’s cross country team brought the title back to Arkansas City by placing first at the NJCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships held Saturday in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Cowley College sophomore Lubna Suied continued her dominating sophomore season by winning the women’s race at the Cross Country Conference/Region Championships held Friday in El Dorado, KS. Suied’s impressive victory helped the Lady Tiger cross country team capture their fourth straight conference title and place second in the region.
Making the move to NJCAA Division II has been a good decision so far for the Cowley College women’s cross country team. The Lady Tigers are ranked No. 1 in week one of the NJCAA Division II National Coaches Poll.
