The Tiger runners traveled to Colby, KS for the Region VI/KJCCC XC Championships
This past weekend the men's and women's Tiger cross-country teams traveled to Colby, KS to compete in the Region VI / KJCCC Championship.
On the men's side, sophomore Esteban Boisseau finished 10th as an individual and was named an All-Region VI and All-KJCCC Eastern Conference performer. Wilson Navarette was also an All-KJCCC Eastern Conference Performer. Alexis Realland, Conner Walker, and Sam Lovell rounded out the scoring for the Tigers.
"It has been really great to see how Esteban has just continued to develop over his time here. With each workout he just gets more and more sure of himself. He will be a tough one to beat at the national meet."
On the women's side, the ladies freshman Linda Filipova led the team with an 11th place All-Region VI and runner-up All-KJCCC performance. Zuzana Bokova narrowly missed being an All-KJCCC Performer, but was followed closely by an ambush of Lady Tigers to round out the scoring, Pauline Althoff, Marta Herrero, and Jasmine Calvo.
"I think we still have a lot of meat on the bone for the ladies. Some of them are still figuring out how to put together a complete 5k. I am just really proud of their effort to get where we are now and excited to see what they do at Nationals. I think if we can put one together, we will surprise a lot of people."
"Overall, I think it was a great set up for the national meet in Fort Dodge, IA in two weeks. I know both of our groups are going up there with a little bit of a chip on their shoulders and looking for a battle."
The Tiger cross-country teams will head up to Fort Dodge, IA next week to compete in the NJCAA National Championships on Saturday, October 8th.
