Dapper receives conference honor for second straight week

Continuing to put up impressive performances in the pole vault, Cowley College sophomore Dakota Dapper was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row. Cloud County's Maimouna Jallow was named the KJCCC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Dapper tied the second-best mark in the pole vault in Cowley program history by clearing 11 feet – 11 ¾ inches. The mark helped her place third at the Friends University Spring Invitational, trailing only an unattached athlete and an NJCAA Division 1 All-American from Wichita State University.  
Jallow set the Cloud County outdoor track and field record, and the Friends University Spring Invitational meet record in the 100-meter dash by running a time of 11.53 seconds. The time won the event and qualified Jallow for the NJCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships with the sixth-fastest time in the NJCAA this season.
